Althea Prestigious Young Artist Award

We are delighted to celebrate the success of Althea, who has been named Young Digital Artist of the Year in the Warrington & Vale Royal College Young Artist of the Year competition.
Her impressive digital artwork, a stunning recreation of a croissant she had for breakfast, captivated the judging panel and stood out among more than 40 entries submitted by students from 15 schools across the Cheshire region. This year’s competition has been the most successful yet, with a record number of submissions.
The awards ceremony, attended by over 100 guests, showcased all entries in a vibrant exhibition before the winners were announced. Althea’s piece was selected by an expert judging panel, including the college’s director of quality and curriculum, Ben Brady, alongside art and design specialists.
As part of her well-earned prize, Althea received an artist’s kit from Abacus Creative Resources, a sketch set from Derwent Art, and a £60 voucher for maake.com.
Reflecting on the event, Ben Brady praised the exceptional standard of entries, stating: "The talent on display has been truly extraordinary and it is incredibly inspiring to see the next generation of artists showcasing their work."
This is a fantastic achievement for Althea, and we are incredibly proud of her dedication and creativity. Well done, Althea!
